Week 44

Photo a Day: Weeks 44, 45, 46 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear
This week had some pretty fun moments. Us girls painted our toe nails, my son took his first subway ride in the city, and the kids played in the water outside, or at least Sadee Cakes got her “feet wet.” She also fell asleep in a pretty awkward position on the chair. She was kind of upside down, but looked comfortable so I just left her. The kids also got new coloring books and I found some fun black/white photos in my phone that the kids must have taken. In one my son is showing off his stick, which now resides in his room. It has become one of his favorite play things.

Week 45

Photo a Day: Weeks 44, 45, 46 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear
Sadee Cakes is all over my photo roll this week, well, because we spend a lot of time together since brother is in school. I did sneak him in once with his after school snow balls. When is this snow going to stop? As for the other kiddo, she had a lot of fun this week. We (I) practiced french braiding her hair and I’d say it’s getting better, but I still need some practice. She pulled out the old classic tape recorder toy and hit a few notes, and for whatever reason decided to ride her rocking tiger with her feet in the air. Whatever, she was having fun. She even got all the goodies at the doctor’s office even though I was the sick patient. Kids get it all.

Week 46

Photo a Day: Weeks 44, 45, 46 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear
This week was my son’s spring break from school and quite frankly, I never had a spring break that I couldn’t really go outside because of the weather. One day it was nice enough to go to the park, so we jumped at the chance, and another day we just went for a short walk, but aside from that we’ve been stuck inside. Not to mention I’m still sick. So, we’ve been learning to clean. The kids helped mop the floor and my son helped wipe down the inside of the fridge. They also enjoyed some Easter candy and on one of the rainy days, Sadee Cakes brought the rainy fun indoors, using a large umbrella as a sort of tent/shelter to play in. I don’t know what I’d do without these kids.

Week 41

Photo a Day: Weeks 41, 42 & 43 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear
Let’s see…the baby’s movements are out of control (he’s pushing to the left in this photo), my kids always attack daddy when he gets home from work, I started doing some (wishful) spring and summer shopping, apples and peanut butter are my go-to snack lately, and we went to a soccer game and froze our butts off. Oh, and apparently Elmo got hungry because I caught him trying to get into the fridge.

Week 42

Photo a Day: Weeks 41, 42 & 43 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear
This week was full of shenanigans, just like any other. It may have been snowing, but I had a doctor’s appointment one morning. Through the snow and all we stopped at McDonald’s for some breakfast afterward. Aside from that, the kids were just being themselves. The little one had a rock session one day, played with the Leap TV while brother was at school, had a late night tortilla (yes, just the tortilla) after bath time, and that’s her under the blanket too. My favorite pic this week is of both kids playing together. They’ve been doing this a lot lately and it makes my heart so warm.

Week 43

Photo a Day: Weeks 41, 42 & 43 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear
This week was all about food. It was my birthday so we went to Olive Garden for dinner. Apparently it’s appropriate to eat a bread stick by just jabbing the whole thing with a fork. Maybe we should all try it sometime. Just today, the little one decided to make us lunch. It was plastic, so I don’t recommend actually eating it, but she gets an A for effort and all the hard work she put in in her play kitchen. The other food? That’s what daddy’s been eating at work. I’m the pregnant one, but he’s getting all the good stuff. Aside from all the food, I got a good shot of the kids drawing together. It’s heart melting when they aren’t whining and fighting with the other. I snuck in a city pic and looky, looky, Elmo made it in the mix again too. Looks like this time he got in trouble for something and is being detained, haha.

Oh yeah! Who’s right on time this week? This girl right here, haha! I’ve been pretty quiet on the blog this week (don’t worry, it’s going to pick up over the next few days) and have just been enjoying family time. You’ll see what we’ve been up to in the pics.

Week 39

Photo a Day: Weeks 37 & 38 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear
Let’s see…this week was Valentine’s Day, so we got a few goodies – flowers, a big Minnie Mouse, and a Hello Kitty pin and paper airplane that came in cards from Nana. One day after school the kids got pizza and then another day we went out for dinner, just me and the kids, while daddy was still at work. I also did a couponing trip and spent just under $30 for some things we needed (I love saving money). And the cutest moment of the week was my daughter “listening” to the baby. She’s been to all of my prenatal appointments so she’s seen how the doctor listens to the baby’s heartbeat.

Week 40

Photo a Day: Weeks 37 & 38 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear
This week was daddy’s birthday. We went to breakfast and the day before Sadee Cakes painted daddy a birthday picture. I got my son signed up for a new season of soccer. He can’t wait to get started, but that won’t happen until April. Other than that, there was some playing in the covers, car shenanigans, night time tablet games, and oh my, that day it was raining and my hair was out of control. Good thing it WAS raining so I could at least put my hood over it.

Photo a Day: Weeks 37 & 38 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear

Yeap, here I am late again with my Photo a Day update. I have a good excuse this time, though. I had every intention of getting this post up yesterday, but my son was doing some school work on my computer and he hoarded the computer until it died. Like, he had it for hours up until bed time. At least it was being used for good. Be that as it may, here are the photos from the last 2 weeks.

Week 37

Photo a Day: Weeks 37 & 38 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear
Let’s see, this week had some toddler antics like eating apples, all except the peel, and using a shirt as a cup holder. She’s goofy, but I love her. My son’s birthday balloon also finally decided to start descending from the ceiling (it’s been up there for about 3 weeks). There was also some spelling test practice, naps in the car while waiting for brother to get out of school, and ear candling (I might do a blog post about this).

Week 38

Photo a Day: Weeks 37 & 38 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear
And this week I realized just how big this baby bump is getting. Less than 3 months to go! We had a family movie night, a little bedroom cleaning, and thanks to my personal photographer, I discovered the kids were standing and jumping on our bed when we weren’t looking. I have photographic proof so they can’t even deny it. There was also a cheek “boo-boo,” a school day that started with snow and ended with rain, and it looks like the little one had a rough day at work and fell asleep on the job.

I’ve been sick for the past week and a half (and still am), but I managed to get some shots of what’s been going on around here. Enjoy!

Week 35

Photo a Day: Weeks 35 & 36 | #photoadayforayear #photoaday
To kick off this week, we started with a fun family trip to Medieval Times. There was also a little shoe shopping, new Batman PJ’s, popsicle treats just because, zoodles and squoodles for dinner, and just some good ol’ relaxation. And look how much better this kid’s handwriting is getting! He’s started spelling tests at school so he practices his spelling words every day.

Week 36

Photo a Day: Weeks 35 & 36 | #photoadayforayear #photoaday
This week was pretty easy going. Some casual walks home from school, relaxing and snoozing here and there, and spending 2 HOURS on a new LEGO Batmobile. Hopefully he keeps it together and I don’t have to do it again. He didn’t get very far into construction before asking for help. We also went big girl underwear shopping since the little one is now potty trained (woohoo!), and the big kid is learning to tie his shoes.

Photo a Day: Weeks 33 & 34 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear

I’m finding it harder and harder to keep up with my Photo a Day posts. Time is just flying by and weeks have passed before I realize it. I think I’m going to have to set reminders for myself so I can stay on track. This series will be over before I know it!

Week 33

Photo a Day: Weeks 33 & 34 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear
This week was our first real snow of the season, so there was staring out the window at the sight all week and a day of digging ourselves out of the house. Before the snow fell I did a grocery store run and did some couponing, which I haven’t done in awhile. It felt good to save so much money and I can’t wait for my next coupon trip! Other than that, it looks like the kids stole my phone for some goofy pics and I discovered one was eating in my bed, which explains where all the crumbs came from that I was sleeping in. Oh, and daddy made into the picture roll at some point too.

Week 34

Photo a Day: Weeks 33 & 34 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear
This week was back to school. It was too cold to walk so I drove my son to school and there was a snow pile blocking an entire lane of traffic, and it was higher than my SUV (the pic was taken from my driver side window). Exciting during the week was my son’s 6th birthday, a new potty because it’s potty training time, and some yummy homemade chocolate peanut clusters. Funny this week was my daughter grabbing a whole chicken thigh and going to town, and her falling asleep in the middle of the kids room when they were supposed to be cleaning it.

Well, the holidays definitely got in the way of updating my Photo a Day, so this time around you get three weeks worth. At least enjoying the holidays is a good excuse to be late! Who’s ready for New Year’s?!

Week 30

Photo a Day: Weeks 30, 31, 32 | #photoadayforayear #photoaday
While trying to endure the cold weather (that has only gotten colder), the kids got new winter coats. We tried to stay indoors as much as possible, but had to venture out to BJ’s where my daughter admired the holiday inflatables, and I also had a dentist’s appointment. My daughter was “working” on her LeapFrog tablet while we waited.

Week 31

Photo a Day: Weeks 30, 31, 32 | #photoadayforayear #photoaday
The week before Christmas was still all about Christmas. My son had a festive week at school where he got to dress out of his uniform each day (PJ day was his fav), and we made his class Christmas cards and goody bags. We also got to see Santa and the kids got an early present from their uncle (that racetrack is loud by the way). All of the fun Christmas activities wore the kids out, so some relaxing was had too.

Week 32

Photo a Day: Weeks 30, 31, 32 | #photoadayforayear #photoaday
Christmas week! Just look at that face of surprise and excitement on Christmas morning. We made Santa cookies to leave under the tree and after Christmas was over, it was back to good ol’ PB&J sandwiches. I had to go back to the doctor for my third attempt at an anatomy ultrasound because our little guy didn’t want to show his left hand. The ultrasound tech had to toggle between 2D and 3D ultrasound, so I lucked out and got a 3D pic of him. Then it was back to normal shenanigans, like my daughter stealing my spot in bed.

After a much needed week long break from the blog, my new Photo a Day is here. The past two weeks have been filled with family and holiday fun. Enjoy!

Week 28

Photo a Day: Weeks 28 & 29 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear
This week there were lots of naps. My daughter likes to climb up on the side of my chair and fall asleep on my shoulder, and my son fell asleep right in the middle of the kitchen floor one afternoon, midway through his homework (must’ve been a rough day at school, haha). Aside from that the kids attended a holiday party, we did some holiday shopping where my daughter thought she was leaving with a new rocking horse (it’s too close to Santa coming for that to happen), and I snagged a pic of her looking out the school door window waiting for her brother’s bus to arrive.

Week 29

Photo a Day: Weeks 28 & 29 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear
This week we started our holiday baking (yum, cookies!) and had some snowmen ice creams. It was snowing outside, so it was only fitting we’d eat snowmen. Our Christmas tree has been reduced to nothing but lights at this point (thanks to the littles for demolishing all the ornaments). My daughter applied crayon to her lips like lipstick, my son has become addicted to Wheel of Fortune so he had some kind of set up with his letters pretending to play it, and he’s getting better at spelling and sounding out words (hence the photo of his sentence notebook). And for you, the best part of the week is the new holiday giveaway I’m hosting on Facebook. Head over to the Making Time facebook page (@ImMakingTime) and enter to win a Fingerling + other fun stocking stuffers!

Admittedly, I almost forgot the new Photo a Day post. The holidays have been a bit hectic, but luckily, I remembered before getting too far into a new week. And can you believe it? I’ve made it halfway through the year already! Boy, has it flown by and I’m sure the other half will fly by just as fast. Enjoy!

Week 26

Photo a Day: Weeks 26 & 27 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear
This week was busy, but we made time for some naps in between it all. My son disguised his turkey as Batman so it wouldn’t get eaten for Thanksgiving this year. My daughter (it’s pretty obvious we spend a lot of time together) was fairly well-behaved at my doctor’s appointment and the rest of the week she played around with Olaf, fell asleep with Snoopy on the way to pick up her brother from school, and had a little play time while laying on daddy’s legs.

Week 27

Photo a Day: Weeks 26 & 27 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear
Thanksgiving week was full of turkey crafts at school, cooking at home, and putting up Christmas decorations and admiring them. Santa also learned that my son wants everything Batman for Christmas (and probably why he disguised his turkey as Batman last week). And if you need a good laugh, the very middle picture shows my daughter trying to block the TV so my son couldn’t see it. She wasn’t very effective, but it was funny all the same.

Week 24

Photo a Day: Weeks 24 & 25 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear
Halloween week! For Halloween we dressed up as a scarecrow, Robin (Batman’s sidekick), and Jesse from Toy Story. We also had a fun fall day at the park, did a little rocking out and passing out, walked brother home from school a few times, and Sadee was so happy about something (maybe her cheese doodles) that she was just running in circles.

Week 25

Photo a Day: Weeks 24 & 25 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear
My favorite part of this week was announcing that we’re expecting kiddo #3 (boy). On top of that, there was some lemon tasting (oh, the faces but she kept going back for more), listening to music on daddy’s phone, 2 broken spatulas (I broke 2 in 2 days and have no idea how), a little family movie (Nemo), lots of blanket time because man it’s getting cold outside (pretty sure fall was only like a week and then, BAM!, winter), and I have a feeling Sadee thinks she’s a bull with her head butting games.
