I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for LeapFrog’s Scoop & Learn Ice Cream Cart

My kids absolutely love LeapFrog, from the tablets and interactive books, to the Number Lovin’ Oven and now, the Scoop & Learn Ice Cream Cart. Because LeapFrog is all about keeping learning fun, I have no problem letting Santa know when there’s a LeapFrog product on my kids’ holiday wish list. Besides, what could be more fun than managing your own ice cream cart?

For any small ice cream lover, managing their own ice cream cart would be an amazing adventure. But if they can learn while doing it, all the better, right? That’s exactly what the LeapFrog Scoop & Learn Ice Cream Cart offers!

First, take a quick look at the Scoop & Learn Ice Cream Cart in action.

Pretty cool, huh? Not only are kids having fun putting together ice cream creations, but they are learning numbers and counting, color (and flavor) recognition, matching, and even enhancing memory skills by taking unique orders. And the whole time your child is running their ice cream cart, it’s interactively speaking and following along. Learning has never been so sweet!

How does it work?

In true LeapFrog fashion, the Scoop & Learn Ice Cream Cart is very user-friendly. Use the magic scooper to scoop up the ice cream and toppings to build customer orders, and the scooper recognizes each color and flavor. Then press the pump to add pretend syrup while counting to ten.

And there are always orders to be filled, no matter who’s around. When not fulfilling your order, your child can build their memory and sequencing skills by choosing from six cute animal order cards and following the order instructions for each one. When an order is ready, ring the bell so customers will know their order’s up!

Oh, and did I mention you’ll always know when the ice cream cart is in your area because it plays fun music. As your child moves from location to location (room to room), they can either place the accessories in the correct places or put them in the two storage drawers (I’d hate my kids not to have the flavors and toppings I like). And while pushing the cart around it plays upbeat songs and music. It’s like having an ice cream truck right in your home!

What’s included?

  • Ice cream cart with interactive magic scooper and register
  • 4 ice cream flavors (yellow vanilla, brown chocolate, pink strawberry, green mint)
  • 3 toppings (orange sprinkles, red cherry sauce, white whipped cream)
  • 3 syrup flavors (blue blueberry, golden caramel, purple grape). These are not actual pieces, but flavor options on the syrup pump.
  • 6 activity cards/order instructions

The only thing you’ll need to purchase extra is 3 AA batteries, but that’s easy enough. I like that it’s not the kind of toy that takes multiple D batteries or 9V batteries. LeapFrog keeps it nice and simple for us.

Making Time's 2017 Holiday Gift Guide is in the works and this is your opportunity to gain holiday exposure. Spots will fill up fast so contact me today! #HolidayGiftGuide #HGG #giftideasThis year the LeapFrog Scoop & Learn Ice Cream Cart not only made it into my Holiday Gift Guide, but made it onto my own kids’ holiday wish list. Lucky for them (and me) it’s only $29.99 on Amazon! That’s definitely a price Santa can work with. It’s the perfect gift for kids this holiday and a gift you won’t feel guilty about getting them because learning has never been so sweet!

What will your ice cream order be?

Early Learning with LeapFrog Academy

Whether you’re sending your kids back to school, are trying to give them a head start on learning, or are looking for a tool to supplement their education, LeapFrog Academy is one you should definitely consider. I’ve tried my fair share of educational tools for young kids and LeapFrog Academy has quickly become my go-to.

~I received a complimentary subscription to help facilitate this post. As always, opinions are still 100% my own.~

My son has been working with LeapFrog Academy for a few weeks now and it’s safe to say he’s a big fan too. As if we couldn’t get enough of everything LeapFrog already has to offer, we now have something to add to the list. And this one is pretty epic.

LeapFrog Academy is a monthly learning subscription designed for kids ages 3-6. It’s an interactive program that guides them through preschool, pre-K, and kindergarten activities, where they’ll not only learn school related topics, but life skills as well. Core skills include reading and writing, math, problem solving, science and the world, creativity, feelings and health.

With over 1,000 activities including books, games, puzzles, videos, music, and art, there’s a possibility your child won’t want to leave their Learning Adventure. The activities themselves are pretty fun and along the adventure your child will earn bonus opportunities and rewards as motivation to continue.

Some rewards include accessories to change their avatar appearance and collection pieces to build all kinds of fun stuff (castles, dinosaurs, etc.) When asked to step away from the program, my son has said many times, “But mom, I have to get a reward.” He’d play and learn all day if the device didn’t need charging.

And speaking of, device compatibility happens to be one of my favorite features. In the past you’ve always been required to use a LeapFrog product for anything LeapFrog related, but LeapFrog Academy is available on the computer (both Windows and macOS), iOS and Android devices (tablets and phones), as well as LeapFrog Epic and Epic Academy Edition.

Early Learning with LeapFrog Academy | #LeapFrog #LeapFrogAcademy #earlylearning #supplementaleducation #monthlysubscription

My son started out on my Windows computer and after discovering the LeapFrog Academy app automatically uploads to the Epic after it’s added to your LeapFrog account, he quickly switched over to the Epic. If you purchase the Epic Academy Edition, the LeapFrog Academy app is already installed.

But can we rejoice for a minute that it’s available on iOS and Android devices?! If you don’t already own a LeapFrog Epic tablet, there’s no need to go out and get one. Just download the app on your existing device and you’re all set.

Early Learning with LeapFrog Academy | #LeapFrog #LeapFrogAcademy #earlylearning #supplementaleducation #monthlysubscription

And wait, it gets even better! And you may want to sit down for this. —– LeapFrog Academy does NOT require Wi-Fi. Well, at least not all features. Woohoo! Road trips and airplane rides, here we come!

To clarify a little, not every feature of LeapFrog Academy works offline, but as your child is going through their Learning Adventure they have the ability to choose their favorite activities (games, books) and make them favorites. If ever in an offline situation, those games and books identified as favorites (up to 24) will be available for use without a Wi-Fi connection.

In true LeapFrog fashion, you also have the ability to track your child’s progress. Just sign into the Parent Dashboard where you can choose and change your child’s Learning Adventure, see what your child has completed, along with their score and what they learned in the activity, and this is also where you manage the account and your child’s profile.

These are the Learning Adventures my son has already completed and it also shows me which adventure he’s working on now. I can click on any of these he’s completed to check his scores.

Early Learning with LeapFrog Academy | #LeapFrog #LeapFrogAcademy #earlylearning #supplementaleducation #monthlysubscription
This is one of the activities my son has already completed. If I want him to go back and try it again, I can adjust his Learning Adventure so he can do that.

Early Learning with LeapFrog Academy | #LeapFrog #LeapFrogAcademy #earlylearning #supplementaleducation #monthlysubscription
This is the Learning Adventure currently being worked on. I can see that my son is just starting this one and hasn’t completed any activities yet, but I know the types of activities he’ll be working on.

In just the few weeks my son has been using LeapFrog Academy, he has really been surprising me. Since he’s starting kindergarten next week, I started him with the Introduction to Kindergarten adventure, which he’s already completed and has moved on to other things.

Early Learning with LeapFrog Academy | #LeapFrog #LeapFrogAcademy #earlylearning #supplementaleducation #monthlysubscription

Yesterday he was telling me about the body’s intestines, and lungs, and the skull and brain, and biceps, and ribs, and heart, and oh. my. goodness. The boy is only 5 years old! I’ve overheard him doing multiple “Human Body” activities the past few weeks, each one a little different than the last, and he was really taking away some info from them.

I’ve also seen him doing alphabet, counting, math, feelings, expressions, and life cycle activities. Many of which I’m sure I’d have a hard time teaching myself. I can’t wait to see what else LeapFrog Academy throws at him and for my toddler to get to an age where she can start using it too.

Ready to leap into learning? Sign up today for a free 1 month trial. The subscription is $7.99/mth after that and if you decide you want to cancel, you can do so at any time.

And by the way, I’m sure many of you have more than one child who would love to use LeapFrog Academy. One subscription allows up to 5 child profiles to be created!

What is your favorite feature of LeapFrog Academy?

#TTPM Spring Showcase 2017

#TTPM Spring Showcase 2017

It has been a crazy couple of weeks of traveling and now sick kids, but in between it all I was able to fit in a visit to the TTPM Spring Showcase 2017 in NYC.

It just so happened to fall on “Take Your Child to Work Day,” which was perfect. What kid doesn’t want to play with toys all day? My two had a great time and even tried to walk away with a few of the toys that were on display.

This was my first ever event as a blogger and I learned so much! Not only about all of the new and upcoming toy releases, but about media events like this in general. But you don’t want to hear about that, right? You want to see and hear about the good stuff – the toys!

So many toys!

There were so many brands exhibiting at the TTPM Spring Showcase that we didn’t even have a chance to visit all of the tables before we had to hit the road. But of those we did visit, the toys were pretty epic and I can’t wait for some of them to come out!

#TTPM Spring Showcase 2017

I think my daughter’s favorite was the Gazillion Giant Bubble Mill from Funrise (last clip in the video). Both of my kids love bubbles, but since the Bubble Mill is a nonstop bubble maker, it’s easier for my daughter to handle and much less messy than traditional bubbles, which she usually dumps out before she can blow any bubbles.

#TTPM Spring Showcase 2017 #TTPM Spring Showcase 2017 #TTPM Spring Showcase 2017

She also loves the Minions so we spent some time playing with all of the Minion toys. One that I wasn’t able to get a good clip of was a Minion that is controlled by your iPad. How fun is that?!

My daughter will be so excited when Despicable Me 3 comes out and it might just be her first movie theater visit. Despicable Me 2 was my son’s first, now that I think about it. We just can’t get enough of those Minions!

#TTPM Spring Showcase 2017

It’s hard to tell which was my son’s favorite because he enjoyed playing with so many of the toys, but if I had to narrow it down I’d probably say the Fast & Furious cars (clip included in the video) from Universal Brand Development.

He stood there and played with a car in each hand, for at least 5 minutes. He didn’t want to leave and when I did finally get him to move on to something else, he tried to take the cars with him!

#TTPM Spring Showcase 2017

Aside from that, he really enjoyed all of the Cars 3 toys. He’s been a big Cars fan since he was two or three. One year we threw him a Cars party (I think his 3rd birthday). So I know he’s super stoked for the new Cars 3 release.

He played with Mattel’s Disney-Pixar Cars 3 Crazy 8 Crashers Smash & Crash Derby Playset (that’s a mouthful) for a bit, trying to knock Miss Fritter’s bus out of the way for the derby win.

And this only scratches the surface! There were so many more brands and so many more toys at the showcase.

Is that enough toys for you? This isn’t even all of them! Those I included in the video aren’t pictured here, so be sure to check it out. And like I said earlier, we didn’t have time to stop at all of the tables, so just imagine everything that could be missing.

Making Time for a Learning LeapStart with LeapFrog + #Giveaway

~As a LeapFrog Mom Ambassador, I receive products, promotional items and educational material to use and share as I see fit. However, any opinions expressed by me are honest and reflect my actual experience.~

The new #LeapStart from #LeapFrog is a great tool for teaching everything from reading, writing and STEM, to emotional, social and life skills. And it's all tailored to kids ages 2-7! #LeapAhead #LeapFrogMomSquad

There’s nothing I love more than hearing my son having fun, while personally knowing he’s learning simultaneously.  This time it’s the new LeapStart from LeapFrog that has his brain gears on the go.  Yeap, LeapFrog is at it again with their creative and innovative learning and educational tools for kids.

The newest addition, LeapStart, is an all-in-one interactive early learning system for kids ages 2-7, that covers a variety of topics, including shapes, colors, math, the alphabet, reading, writing, STEM, and even geography and space science.  But what I think makes LeapStart extra special is that not only does it touch on school subjects, but it also helps develop your child’s social, emotional and life skills.  That’s not something a lot of other learning and educational toys can teach, and it’s important that our children start learning such skills early on.

So, you know what it teaches, but how does LeapStart work?  Well, LeapStart systems are a large electronic book-like device that you open, place a LeapStart Activity Book in the center, and use a stylus pen to interact with the Activity Book.

The new #LeapStart from #LeapFrog is a great tool for teaching everything from reading, writing and STEM, to emotional, social and life skills. And it's all tailored to kids ages 2-7! #LeapAhead #LeapFrogMomSquad

Each Activity Book is packed full of 30+ fun games and challenges.  There are 16 books in the LeapStart collection, 4 for each educational level, ranging between Preschool, Pre-K, Kindergarten and 1st grade.  On every page there’s a new type of interaction in which your child uses the stylus pen to interact with the book and in return the book talks and sings aloud, telling your child what to do.

Whether your child is tracing numbers, learning compound words, or exploring outer space, they’re having fun all at the same time while using their LeapStart interactive system.

Check out this video of the LeapStart in action!

My son loves “playing” with his LeapStart, but he doesn’t realize he’s learning at the same time.  Shhh – if you don’t tell, I won’t tell.  One of the things I like about the LeapStart system is how it prompts him to start over or try again when he makes an error.  It doesn’t alert him in a negative manner that he was wrong or did something incorrectly, but just asks him to try again.  The positive reinforcement, practice and repetition is the perfect combination for successful learning.

The new #LeapStart from #LeapFrog is a great tool for teaching everything from reading, writing and STEM, to emotional, social and life skills. And it's all tailored to kids ages 2-7! #LeapAhead #LeapFrogMomSquad

To take learning a step further, LeapStart is available in 2 different systems, LeapStart Jr. and LeapStart Sr., each of which is designed with different ages, skills, and educational levels in mind.  Review the details of each one to determine which system best fits your child’s needs.  For reference, my son has the LeapStart Sr.

LeapStart Jr.

The new #LeapStart from #LeapFrog is a great tool for teaching everything from reading, writing and STEM, to emotional, social and life skills. And it's all tailored to kids ages 2-7! #LeapAhead #LeapFrogMomSquad

  • Includes Preschool & Pre-K sampler book
  • Easy to hold stylus for little hands
