Molang Season 2 on DVD + Giveaway | #giveaway #Molang #NCircleEntertainmentMy toddler absolutely loves watching Molang on Disney Jr. and oftentimes she specifically requests to watch it. I suppose it’s a good thing she has season 1 on DVD and now we’ve added season 2 to her collection. Now available from NCircle Entertainment is Molang Season 2, with 52 new short stories – from baking, to golf, to kung fu and more, this pair is doing it all.

I love that at such an early age my daughter can see the relationship between two unlikely friends and how they go about enjoying daily life. It’s so heartwarming to see her laughing at their silly antics. I can only hope she’ll have the same kind of friendship with someone as she grows older. But for now, outgoing Molang and shy Piu Piu are great friendship role models (#friendshipgoals, haha).

Want to share all of the fun with your little ones? Use the giveaway form below to enter to win a Molang Season 2 Prize Pack! Also check out these free printable Molang activity sheets for even more fun.

How to Get a Free Baby Box

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from having kids, it’s that they are expensive. We want our kids to have the best gear and anything they could want or need, but the reality is, they don’t need it all. One of the things on most parents’ baby registries is a crib or bassinet. That’s fine. In fact, we are still using the convertible crib we got when my first was born. My daughter is currently using it as a toddler bed. But a crib isn’t needed right away and many times can be dangerous for newborns and infants. So as a soon to be three time mom, my advice is to start with a baby box. Save the crib expense for later and focus on other things. Besides, many of you can get a baby box for free and I’m going to tell you how!

How to Get a Free Baby Box | #free #babybox #TheBabyBoxCo

What is a baby box?

To my knowledge baby boxes are a fairly new concept to the U.S., but have been around for a long time in other countries, especially Finland. It’s literally a cardboard box for baby to safely sleep in. It comes with a firm, box fitted mattress and a sheet for the mattress.

How to Get a Free Baby Box | #free #babybox #TheBabyBoxCo

How to Get a Free Baby Box | #free #babybox #TheBabyBoxCo

I know it sounds weird to have your baby sleeping in a box, but other countries have found a reduced number of infant deaths from using them. Some reasons for reduced deaths include things like:

  • Not placing blankets, pillows, and stuffed animals in the box with baby.
  • Firm mattress eliminates risk of suffocation.
  • It’s portable and can easily be moved from room to room (don’t move it with baby in it), which makes parents less likely to place baby wherever is convenient.
  • Just a reminder – no matter what baby is sleeping in/on, he should always be sleeping on his back.

How to Get a Free Baby Box:

People living in certain states have the ability to get a baby box for free from The Baby Box Co. All you have to do is “attend” Baby Box University. Don’t worry, it’s literally just watching about 20 minutes worth of online videos.

Even as a third time mom, I found the various videos to be great reminders. Of course, I was already aware of most of the info, but it was nice to have a refresher because after having your first child you get comfortable, and know what to expect and what works for you. Quite frankly that can sometimes put your child in an unknown danger. And as a first time parent, the info in the videos is even better.

Once you’ve completed Baby Box University, simply place your order. You’ll be given options in your area to pick up the baby box for free from places like local libraries, or for $3 you can have the box delivered. I paid the $3 and just had mine delivered. So for free (or even $3 for convenience) your baby can have a safe and compact place to sleep.

To find out if your state or facility qualifies visit The Baby Box Co.

Has your child ever slept in a baby box?

We’re Going on a Mission #PuppyDogPals

You probably already know that my kids absolutely LOVE Disney Junior. And one of the newer shows, Puppy Dog Pals, has quickly become one of my daughter’s favorites. We are a puppy loving family so it was no surprise to me. So when I learned Puppy Dog Pals was coming to DVD (officially on April 10th), I jumped at the chance to get her a copy.

We're Going on a Mission with the Puppy Dog Pals | #PuppyDogPals #DisneyJunior #DVD

~I received a sample to help facilitate this post. As always, opinions are still 100% my own.~

I tried to hide it for a little while so it would be a surprise, but one day she started going bananas, jumping up and down (or doing her one leg jump since she hasn’t quite mastered jumping), and as soon as I saw that she had the DVD in-hand, I knew exactly why she was so excited. It was immediately, “Watch Bingo and Rolly.”

We're Going on a Mission with the Puppy Dog Pals | #PuppyDogPals #DisneyJunior #DVD

I popped the DVD in and she was quite content for a while, joining Bingo and Rolly on their missions to help their owner, Bob. Day after day Bob has a dilemma of some sort, so Bingo and Rolly make it their mission to fix the dilemma while Bob is away at work. And let me tell you, they take their missions seriously.

From traveling across the world to find the missing pyramids or bringing Bob some sand from Hawaii, to fixing Bob’s beloved plush puppy, Bingo and Rolly are determined to complete every mission. Spoiler alert – they DO accomplish every mission, haha. Sometimes they even pull their “big sister,” Hissy, and other friends along for the adventure.

Puppy Dog Pals will officially hit DVD tomorrow, April 10th, so if you have a little adventure or puppy lover, this would be a nice surprise for them. And check out these fun (and free) printable activity pages, too!

Week 44

Photo a Day: Weeks 44, 45, 46 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear
This week had some pretty fun moments. Us girls painted our toe nails, my son took his first subway ride in the city, and the kids played in the water outside, or at least Sadee Cakes got her “feet wet.” She also fell asleep in a pretty awkward position on the chair. She was kind of upside down, but looked comfortable so I just left her. The kids also got new coloring books and I found some fun black/white photos in my phone that the kids must have taken. In one my son is showing off his stick, which now resides in his room. It has become one of his favorite play things.

Week 45

Photo a Day: Weeks 44, 45, 46 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear
Sadee Cakes is all over my photo roll this week, well, because we spend a lot of time together since brother is in school. I did sneak him in once with his after school snow balls. When is this snow going to stop? As for the other kiddo, she had a lot of fun this week. We (I) practiced french braiding her hair and I’d say it’s getting better, but I still need some practice. She pulled out the old classic tape recorder toy and hit a few notes, and for whatever reason decided to ride her rocking tiger with her feet in the air. Whatever, she was having fun. She even got all the goodies at the doctor’s office even though I was the sick patient. Kids get it all.

Week 46

Photo a Day: Weeks 44, 45, 46 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear
This week was my son’s spring break from school and quite frankly, I never had a spring break that I couldn’t really go outside because of the weather. One day it was nice enough to go to the park, so we jumped at the chance, and another day we just went for a short walk, but aside from that we’ve been stuck inside. Not to mention I’m still sick. So, we’ve been learning to clean. The kids helped mop the floor and my son helped wipe down the inside of the fridge. They also enjoyed some Easter candy and on one of the rainy days, Sadee Cakes brought the rainy fun indoors, using a large umbrella as a sort of tent/shelter to play in. I don’t know what I’d do without these kids.

Spring Cleaning: Turn Your Unwanted Stuff Into Money

I’m sure you’ve all finished your spring cleaning, right?  Ha – I’m not even done myself, but I have gone through all of my clothing and put aside everything I no longer wear or just don’t want anymore.  But, what do I do with it now?

I am not a wasteful person, so simply tossing those clothes out just isn’t an option.  Luckily, there are a few different things I could do, including donating everything, but I can also turn my unwanted stuff into money.  Who doesn’t want some extra money?!

Making Time for Spring Cleaning - Turn Your Unwanted Stuff Into Money

~This post was originally published on May 13, 2016.~

So, how do I do this?  I use apps!  Here are a few of my favorite apps to turn my unwanted stuff into cold, hard cash.

~Mercari~

Spring Cleaning: Turn Your Unwanted Stuff Into Money | #SpringCleaning

The Mercari app is the one I’ve been using the shortest amount of time, but has quickly become my biggest money making app.  In fact, just a few days ago I moved over $100 into my bank account from this app. With Mercari, you simply take photos of what your trying to sell, add a description, choose the appropriate weight for shipping and who will pay the shipping cost (you or buyer), and choose your selling price.

Spring Cleaning: Turn Your Unwanted Stuff Into Money | #SpringCleaning

The best part about Mercari is that the app only keeps 10% of the sale price. I mean, I understand these apps have to make money somewhere, but if they keep a large portion, what’s really in it for me? So 10% I can deal with.

And you can sell just about everything on Mercari – your entire family’s unwanted clothing/shoes/accessories, kitchen and home items, beauty items, toys, baby stuff, books, electronics and so much more!  Sometimes I feel like listing everything in my home just so I can go buy new stuff, haha!

When you download Mercari, you can get a $10 credit by using my invite code – ZNN932.  You can use this $10 towards any purchase on the app.

~Poshmark~

Spring Cleaning: Turn Your Unwanted Stuff Into Money | #SpringCleaning

The Poshmark app is very similar to Mercari as far as the listing process with photos, description, etc.  The difference is that you can only sell clothing, shoes, and accessories on Poshmark, and that includes women’s, kids, and men’s.

In addition, Poshmark keeps 20% commission on your listed sell price.  So if you’re set on getting a certain amount for something, be sure to add 20% to the listed sell price so that you don’t lose out.

Spring Cleaning: Turn Your Unwanted Stuff Into Money | #SpringCleaning

One of the cool features of Poshmark is that you can offer bundle discounts.  A buyer can browse your “closet” and add different items into a bundle, and when they purchase they’ll get a predetermined discount of your choosing.  So you could offer buyers 10% off of two items, or maybe 25% off the purchase of three items.  Bundles are a great way to move the stuff out of your house and also help the buyer get a great deal.

Spring Cleaning: Turn Your Unwanted Stuff Into Money | #SpringCleaning

I started using Poshmark in 2013 and by 2016 had sold $1,909 worth of stuff.  That’s over $600 extra in my pocket each year just from selling my unwanted stuff!  When you download Poshmark and use my invite code – BTTRSWEETSOUL – you’ll get a free $5 towards any purchase.  So out with the old and in with the new!

~Vinted~

Spring Cleaning: Turn Your Unwanted Stuff Into Money | #SpringCleaning

The Vinted app is another one I like to use.  You can sell clothing, shoes and accessories for the entire family, but nothing more than that.  And just like Poshmark, you’re able to set up bundle discounts for your buyers.

The big kicker? On Vinted, sellers keep 100% of the sale price! The buyer actually pays a small fee when they make a purchase and that’s where this app makes its money.

Spring Cleaning: Turn Your Unwanted Stuff Into Money | #SpringCleaning

When you join Vinted, you’re more than welcome to use my invitation link, but the app is not currently running any special promotions for joining.

The best part about all three of these apps is that you’re getting rid of your unwanted stuff and putting some extra cash in your pocket – literally!  With each of these apps you can transfer your balance right into your banking account! So go and download an app or three, and turn your unwanted stuff into money.

Which app would you be more likely to use?

Family Stories Makes World Travel Possible and Personalized for Kids

I have always been a fan of travel and one day hope to travel the world. I wish the same for my kids, too. New people, new experiences, new food, new sights, traveling is a true adventure. Luckily for my daughter, she gets to travel the world now with her new personalized adventure book from Family Stories.

Do you have a travel bucket list? Maybe you’d like to visit Peru, or Kenya, or how about somewhere a bit more local, like New York? Australia is on the top of my list! My daughter recently got the opportunity to travel to all of these places, plus some, with her personalized adventure book from Family Stories.

Family Stories Makes World Travel Possible and Personalized for Kids | #FamilyStories #kidsbook #personalization #giftidea

Country after country, her character travels all over the world in just a single day, with a little birthday magic of course. It was quite the adventure – visiting new lands, learning a little about each place, and meeting new friends. And because it’s all in a book, she can travel back anytime she wants.

Did you notice I mentioned her character? It’s true! My daughter can look through her book, “Sadee Travels Around the World,” and actually see herself traveling to all of these places. The personalization of this book isn’t just adding my daughter’s name to the story, but when I ordered it, I was able to create a little Sadee character that looks just like her (hair style and color, eyes, nose, skin color, clothing). It’s the cutest thing to see her point herself out while we read the book. “My Sadee!,” she says.

And the personalization doesn’t stop there. Mommy and Daddy get characters too. She knew right away who we were when we read the book the first time. One of the things I like about the personalization of this particular book is that if you have a family with two moms or two dads, that can be done too.

After the personalizing was completed, I got to preview the graphics exactly as they would look in the final print, right down to every last page. It is one of the cutest things I’ve seen and my daughter really seems to enjoy seeing and reading about herself in a book. I can’t wait to see if Family Stories will come up with other story lines!

Week 41

Photo a Day: Weeks 41, 42 & 43 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear
Let’s see…the baby’s movements are out of control (he’s pushing to the left in this photo), my kids always attack daddy when he gets home from work, I started doing some (wishful) spring and summer shopping, apples and peanut butter are my go-to snack lately, and we went to a soccer game and froze our butts off. Oh, and apparently Elmo got hungry because I caught him trying to get into the fridge.

Week 42

Photo a Day: Weeks 41, 42 & 43 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear
This week was full of shenanigans, just like any other. It may have been snowing, but I had a doctor’s appointment one morning. Through the snow and all we stopped at McDonald’s for some breakfast afterward. Aside from that, the kids were just being themselves. The little one had a rock session one day, played with the Leap TV while brother was at school, had a late night tortilla (yes, just the tortilla) after bath time, and that’s her under the blanket too. My favorite pic this week is of both kids playing together. They’ve been doing this a lot lately and it makes my heart so warm.

Week 43

Photo a Day: Weeks 41, 42 & 43 | #photoaday #photoadayforayear
This week was all about food. It was my birthday so we went to Olive Garden for dinner. Apparently it’s appropriate to eat a bread stick by just jabbing the whole thing with a fork. Maybe we should all try it sometime. Just today, the little one decided to make us lunch. It was plastic, so I don’t recommend actually eating it, but she gets an A for effort and all the hard work she put in in her play kitchen. The other food? That’s what daddy’s been eating at work. I’m the pregnant one, but he’s getting all the good stuff. Aside from all the food, I got a good shot of the kids drawing together. It’s heart melting when they aren’t whining and fighting with the other. I snuck in a city pic and looky, looky, Elmo made it in the mix again too. Looks like this time he got in trouble for something and is being detained, haha.

If you look at your wardrobe right now, what type of clothing would you say is the most boring? For most of us, it’s our socks. How about stepping up your sock game (and fashion) with Society Socks and helping those in need at the same time?

I am a huge fan of fun (and crazy) socks. And over the past few years, socks have become a way to add pizzazz and style to just about any outfit. Even men are spicing up their looks with fun socks. While my boyfriend’s sock drawer is mostly black, he does have a few pairs with quirky designs. We attended a friend’s wedding a couple of years ago and while he wore your average wedding attire, his socks definitely made a statement.

Socks are a pretty easy way to add personality to an outfit and sometimes a conversation starter. “Where did you get those socks?” Now you can tell them, Society Socks. Society Socks is a subscription that sends you two stylish pairs of socks every month. Some have brighter colors and others are more subtle in design, but the constant is that you’ll love having them all in your wardrobe.

Weight Loss Doesn’t Have to Be Trial and Error | HomeDNA Healthy Weight Test

The hardest part of any diet or lifestyle change is the ability to actually stick with the plan. And when you try your hardest and follow it through and through, but nothing changes – no mood change, no more energy than you had before, no weight loss – it is so crushing. All that effort for nothing. The reality is, food and exercise regimes are not one size fits all and our DNA has a lot to do with it. With the HomeDNA Healthy Weight Test, you can learn exactly what will work for you so you can avoid the heartache of unsuccessful nutritional changes.

Weight Loss Doesn't Have to Be Trial and Error | #HomeDNA Healthy Weight Test #weightloss

~I received a sample to help facilitate this post. As always, opinions are still 100% my own.~

We’ve all been there. We want to lose weight. We choose a new diet and exercise routine. We stick with it, as hard as it may be. And nothing. The results just aren’t there. Whyyyyyy? Why me? Because of our different genetic markers, what works for me, may not work for you. The key to a truly healthier lifestyle is understanding how our genetic markers affect and react to different aspects of food, nutrition, and exercise.

That’s where the HomeDNA Healthy Weight Test comes into the picture. Forget all of the different diet fads and exercise regimes. To be successful, you need to first determine how your body reacts to certain foods and exercise. The HomeDNA Healthy Weight Test is a scientifically-based weight-management test that identifies your genetic makeup and provides diet and exercise strategies uniquely tailored to your specific group. No more trial and error. Get results the first time around.

My boyfriend recently got the opportunity to try the HomeDNA Healthy Weight Test and last week got his results. All I can say is WOW! Talk about a lot of info and AHA! realizations. His results were a total of 72 pages, including details on how his body reacts to food, nutrients, exercise, and his overall ability for weight loss.

Weight Loss Doesn't Have to Be Trial and Error | #HomeDNA Healthy Weight Test #weightloss

Ability for Weight Loss

Weight Loss Doesn't Have to Be Trial and Error | #HomeDNA Healthy Weight Test #weightlossMy boyfriend has tried a few different things to lose weight over the years and like most of us, nothing really worked. The first thing that struck me in his HomeDNA results is that based on his genetic markers, his ability to loss weight with diet and exercise is LOW (the results even list the specific genes used in coming to this conclusion).

Well, no wonder it’s been so hard for him. Even so, this doesn’t mean he can’t lose weight. He just has to work harder than others may have to and will truly have to make a permanent lifestyle change to lose the weight and keep it off.

Food

Weight Loss Doesn't Have to Be Trial and Error | #HomeDNA Healthy Weight Test #weightlossThe food results go into great detail about what types of food should be eaten, how much should be eaten, and if counting calories, the suggested calorie intake per day. You will learn how your body reacts to different food groups, like proteins, fats, and carbs. In my boyfriend’s case, his body utilizes protein and carbs normally, but utilizes fats at a lower rate, meaning a high-fat diet isn’t going to do much for him.

Weight Loss Doesn't Have to Be Trial and Error | #HomeDNA Healthy Weight Test #weightloss

Nutrients

One of my favorite things about the HomeDNA Healthy Weight Test is that based on your results, you’re given a sample menu and even details about which specific foods would benefit your diet and which won’t. A lot of this has to do with how your body processes different nutrients.

Weight Loss Doesn't Have to Be Trial and Error | #HomeDNA Healthy Weight Test #weightloss

Weight Loss Doesn't Have to Be Trial and Error | #HomeDNA Healthy Weight Test #weightloss

Exercise

Weight Loss Doesn't Have to Be Trial and Error | #HomeDNA Healthy Weight Test #weightlossDid you know there are two components to exercise? Cardio AND resistance training (build that muscle). I’ve seen some people focus solely on one or the other, which may be okay for their specific needs, but that’s not consistent for everyone. In my boyfriend’s HomeDNA results we learned that for him to be successful in losing weight, he needs to hit the weights more. His body has an enhanced response to strength training, which will help reduce his body fat.

It doesn’t mean he can simply forego cardio altogether. Cardio may not help him when it comes to fat loss, but it is still beneficial to his overall fitness. In particular, high intensity cardio is the most beneficial for him. And just like the results lay out a food plan, there’s an exercise plan too.

In the past he has done a combo of both cardio and resistance training, but focused more on the cardio side. Now knowing what he does, he can adjust his exercise routine to be more beneficial and add more strength training so he can burn the fat.

Weight Loss Doesn't Have to Be Trial and Error | #HomeDNA Healthy Weight Test #weightloss

So, the results you get from this genetic testing is a lot to take in and process, and quite frankly can take you a while to fully get a handle on. I do most of the cooking at home and do the grocery shopping, so I’ve been trying to get a handle on the custom meal plan and foods that have been laid out for my boyfriend. I want to be as supportive as I can and I’m still trying to get things all in order.

Reading through and deciphering why your body reacts the way it does can be overwhelming, but in the end you have a better understanding of what works for you when it comes to weight loss. I love the fact that there’s a full 7 day custom menu plan to help give a kick start and an easy to follow custom exercise plan that details what gym machines to use, what gym classes to take, what to do at home, and on what days and for how long. And it’s all tailored to your DNA and genetic makeup.

Weight Loss Doesn't Have to Be Trial and Error | #HomeDNA Healthy Weight Test #weightloss
This is just one page of the custom exercise plan.

My boyfriend is just getting started on his new lifestyle change, so he’s still working to see what types of results he gets, but just having the knowledge of what is supposed to work and what isn’t, is a big relief because he knows all of his hard work will pay off this time.
